Who are we?

We are A-H-O-A-L-A-N, Ahoalan-Nachpikin!

We are service. We are camping. We are Scouts. The Scouts and Scouters of the Ahoalan-Nachpikin Lodge are part of a significant, nearly century-old, program known as the Order of the Arrow, the "National Honor Society" of the Boy Scouts of America. Our name translates to "We Who Love the Outdoors" (and it's pronounced "ah-ho-all-lun notch-pick-in"). We are represented by our totem, the bear.

We are chartered to and serve the Chickasaw Council, which encompasses Shelby County in West Tennessee, East Arkansas, and North Mississippi. We provide community service through many channels. We help with Council and District events, particularly with program facilitation and support. We also serve our Council camps, Camp Currier and Kia Kima Scout Reservation.

Here, find information for upcoming events, lodge leadership details, information about chapters (administrative districts of the lodge), lodge histories, lodge publications, and more!

We also have a mailing list where we will send out information about upcoming events and also The Dancing Bear - the official Lodge newsletter! You can sign up for this mailing list here!

Purpose of the Lodge

  • To recognize those campers -- Scouts and Scouters -- who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives, and by such recognition cause other campers to conduct themselves in such manner as to warrant recognition.

  • To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit.

  • To promote Scout camping, which reaches its greatest effectiveness as a part of the unit's camping program, both year-round and in the summer camp, as directed by the camping committee of the council.

  • To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others

Mission of the Lodge

The mission of the Ahoalan-Nachpikin Lodge is to achieve the purpose of the Order of the Arrow as an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America in the Chickasaw Council through positive youth leadership under the guidance of selected capable adults.
